Transitional Classroom
Ages 2-4 years
Renaissance Montessori Transitional Program
The Transitional Classroom is specifically designed for children between 2 and 4 years of age. This classroom blends aspects of the Toddler and Children’s House environments, focusing primarily on each child’s developmental needs. Activities consist of real, purposeful work for the child: care of self and care of environment. There will also be early lessons from the Children’s House program.
As with our other programs, our Transitional classroom is founded on the four main pillars of the Montessori curriculum: Practical Life, Sensorial, Language, and Math. As part of early childhood education, the Transitional program will primarily focus on the Practical Life pillar of development.
Help Your Toddler Develop
Independence
We focus on developing practical life skills that enable children to learn independence, order, concentration, and coordination.
Social Skills
Our class sizes are limited to allow students to interact and develop personal skills amongst each other and with their teachers.
Creativity
Our students receive lessons designed to enhance their natural curiosity and creativity. They’re invited to explore and learn through the five senses.
Language
All our classrooms are led by two teachers—a Spanish-speaker and an English-speaker. This enables students to develop skills in both languages.
“We discovered that education is not something which the teacher does, but that it is a natural process which develops spontaneously in the human being.”
– Maria Montessori
